persuasive

As I've mentioned before on my blog, for a portion of our school work we use literature based curricula. However this is our first year using a structured language arts program. The LA curriculum we use focuses largely on the child becoming a proficient and confident writer.

For a portion of our LA lessons this week, Havalah has been studying how to make a strong written persuasive argument. Not that this girl needs practice with this - at least not verbally. She can negotiate and persuade the heck out of us. Maybe it has something to do with those blond curls and blue eyes.

Today she wrote the first draft of a persuasive note to Jon and me. Pretty cute, I think. I like how she throws in the part of it being educational and also how she'll pay us back. The girl's a natural. Guess where we're gonna be going?
