Five Happy Things - late summer edition :)

Hey hi! I'm coming off a wonderful week having had my sister, Mary Beth, in town. I think we covered all our bases including doubling up on Tex Mex, shopping, and talking about how much we miss each other, hahaha.  But seriously.  It was so nice to have her here and get to hug her neck.  

We made the drive to Waco for a quick visit...starting things off at Magnolia Table.  Avo toast for MB, light breakfast for H (toast, avocado, tomatoes and an egg), and breakfast taco and cold brew for me.

It's been a minute since I last posted five happy things. My phone is filled with happy images that I snap all throughout the day - not sure why I never share them here :P

I *may* have bribed Henry with cash money to do some painting for me.  I feel like it's a win for us both ;)

We FINALLY had three cracked windows replaced.  They were cracked when we moved in, five, gulp, years ago. The previous owner hid them behind potted plants so we hadn't noticed them till we were moving in. 😳  All three were casualties of lawn mowers/weed eaters.  Really happy about this update :)

We are finishing up our second week of school and starting to get back into our school-day routines.   However, since it's still extremely hot outside my kiddos are able to take a quick morning break and cool down in the pool. It's the little things in life, right? :)

Here are a few happy things that caught my eye this week. Since we are spending the bulk of our days in our school room, most of my pics were snapped in there.

 Sweet wooden mushrooms that I picked up on our trip to Magnolia Silos. I'm still dreaming up ideas of how to use them in a fall mantle.  Thoughts?

You know you're in Texas when all the grocery stores are celebrating (and sampling) the harvest of the Hatch Chili.  Hatch Chili corn bread, Hatch Chili Salsa, Hatch Chili chicken salad, Hatch Chili brownies, Hatch Chili salmon burgers...just to name a few.

The yummiest sandwich, "The Bilbo Baggins," from The Hobbit Cafe.  Give me all the sprouts, please and thank you.  :)
