So things haven't exactly gone our way since my last post. The home inspection for the lovely, light filled Craftsman we wanted? Terrible. So, so terrible. It went so terribly, that we, a family that's not afraid to fix house problems, had to walk away. It's amazing how attached someone (me!!) can become to a house that someone (me!!) doesn't even own yet, and in fact had only just seen for the first time only 7 days ago. Some people (me!!) are so lame.
In the meantime, our lovely children, are bringing out my Christmas spirit, even though we are surrounded by boxes and packing tape. I'm going to post more later about how we are decorating for Christmas without opening any Christmas boxes, although I think H & H are sneaking decorations out of a few boxes whenever they get the chance. ;)
We went small scale on our tree this year. Easy to put into a moving truck.

If you happen by our house any time soon, you'll hear Andy Williams singing It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year playing on repeat at top volume. And really...who can resist that?

I'm so sorry to hear that you inspection didn't go well and that you had to walk away from the deal. I hope that you can find another home quickly. I've learned with trying to sell our 1927 home though that some inspectors like old homes and some don't. That can really alter the way they inspect a home. We sadly were on the other side of an inspection and the inspector made many assumptions that just weren't true about our home. It was very hard to take in. We since learned that the inspector's nickname is "The Deal Breaker". Buying and selling a home can be such an emotional roller coaster.
So sad for you, but I also know that this all must mean something better is around the corner! I love the Christmas spirit that your house still holds and the smiles on your kids faces.
Oh, I'm so sorry! That must have been heartbreaking to have to walk away from that house you wanted. But, like Kristi says, something better must be right around the corner. We also have very scaled back decorations this year because of moving. The house is starting to look somewhat empty, with so much already in boxes...but we've still got a tree!
Oh!! NO!!!! Ugg!!!
Man, that's so frustrating! I am so sad to hear about your house.
I'll be praying that God takes this situation and knocks your socks off somehow.
P.S. I really do love your beautifully decorated tree too!
Bummer about the house. However, it will work out better in the end. You know that though.
I have the "letters to Santa" ornmament, too. Its one of my faves.
There will be a better home!!!:)
Oh, and Andy Williams!!!??? His voice ~ enchanting! My most favorite rendition of "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year"!!! It takes you to a different time and place....Merry Christmas Kristen!
Love, Jenna
