We participated in the Swedish SummeRun in Seattle yesterday. This was our 14th year supporting Swedish and their efforts to find a cure for Ovarian Cancer. This race alone has raised over 3 million dollars to find a cure.
As always I am so moved by all the families, friends and cancer survivors that come to walk or run in this race. My own mom was diagnosed 15 years ago and after her diagnosis she only lasted several months. We still miss her so terribly and participating in the SummeRun is a very simple way for me to honor her and all she went through. I don't think one can ever get over losing their mother. I miss you mom.
My pretty mom, the one with the blond hair - taken 16 years ago. Just a few months before she was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer.

What a great way to honor your mom!
Kristen, how can my mom and I get involved in this next year? She has said in the past she thought it would be to hard for her to participate, but now she feels like she is ready.
Kristi, I'll mark my calendar to let you know when the time rolls around for registration. I can imagine how it might be hard for your mom to participate. There are a lot of women who look like they might be in the midst of treatment.
