Hey hi! I'm coming off a wonderful week having had my sister, Mary Beth, in town. I think we covered all our bases including doubling up on Tex Mex, shopping, and talking about how much we miss each other, hahaha. But seriously. It was so nice to have her here and get to hug her neck.
We made the drive to Waco for a quick visit...starting things off at Magnolia Table. Avo toast for MB, light breakfast for H (toast, avocado, tomatoes and an egg), and breakfast taco and cold brew for me.A stop off to visit Bucee is a must!
This is the church that Chip and Joanna moved to the Silos. It was absolutely beautiful. While we were there a group stop and sang It is well with my Soul, which moved me to tears. The only thing missing from the sweet old building was any sign of a cross or anything that reminded us of its Christian origins. But it was still really a great pause for us. My darling girl!
Alabama sweet tea refills all around!
I sold my first order from my little bakery, Pebble Beach Bakery! Someone ordered a dozen take and bake biscuits complete with strawberry butter. It has been so hot lately (duh) that I keep finding toads in funny places trying to cool off. This guy (girl?) kept coming back to the watering can, and the one below would hang out in one of my pots.
Last week Henry played in the AAU Junior Olympics pickleball competition in downtown Houston. He's played in quite a few club tournaments, but this was his first official one. Kids flew in from all over the nation, and were VERY, VERY GOOD. Pickleball isn't in the Olympics yet, but it sounds like it will be the next go around, and apparently a few of these teens will probably be on team USA. He only won one match, but man was it a good learning experience for him. I think this year we are going to dive in and take pickleball a little more seriously. Should be fun! (Henry is in the center of the pic, on the back court in a navy blue shirt.)

What a fun girl's trip!! You got to do a lot and enjoy a lot of yummy foods! Congratulations on filling your first bakery order. That's so exciting. Your biscuits and strawberry butter sound AMAZING. Good luck with your Pickleball adventures. I don't know much about it so I'll learn along the way with you :)
