This was our first time camping with our new/old tent trailer. Jon has been working so hard this summer cleaning and bleaching every surface inside and out. When we first bought it last summer it smelled so mildew-y I didn't even want to step in, much less sleep inside. But now it's perfect and feels like home away from home. We made sweet memories playing cards, laughing loudly late into the night and listening to Jon read Willy Wonka aloud. (That is a darn funny book when the right person reads it out loud.) We were so fortunate to score a great spot right on the Sol Duc River which was just up the highway from Lake Crescent. Lovely.
Lake Crescent is fuh fuh fuh freezing. My poor kids are only gonna have memories of their Mommy swimming in the tropics, I'm afraid. Good thing they have their Daddy to brave the cold waters.
I'm just gonna admit it here and now. Our kids ate roasted marshmallows for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

:) this made me smile.
This does look like fun. I love the picture of Henry with the caterpillar. ; )
So fun! Can't wait to hear about more of your camping experiences. I've never done it with our kids, but did as a child and loved it. Of course the boys have done the canoe trip, which is over the top camping... but we need to get our girls out to the woods. Maybe when we're back from China.
I love that the kids had marshmallows for all three meals!
Beautiful, beautiful!! Thank you for sharing these special memories with us!
You are always so artistic in your viewpoints of the camera...they each tell such sweet stories!
Hey, I didn't know you got the camper up and running! Yaay! And you went to one of my favorite spots I remember us camping when we were little. What fun!
