family day camp - cowboy day

It was a rowdy day 'round here y'all. We pulled out our best cowboy vernacular and had ourselves a darn good time. After a full day of cowboy day camp, there ain't no more tenderfoots 'round here. (You think I'm kidding, but we (ok, me) really have been talking "cowboy talk" all day - which I forgot to drop for a minute when I went to dispute an (allegedly) lost library book at our library this morning. Embarrassing.)

So between all the whoops and hollerin's here's what we did to keep ourselves outta trouble with the law:
horse makin'
horse racin'
fort buildin'
hankerchief drawin'
desert model buildin'
cactus constructin'
grub makin' and cookin' over an open fire (grill)
gold panin'
and card playin'.

Here are some highlights:

Careful. They're out there somewhere...

This here's the prettiest Sheriff in town. We heard: "reach for the sky" quite a few times today.

I would'a told Black Jack himself to get his finger outta his nose, but well, who am I to tell a cowboy what to do?

They panned for it...

...and struck gold, y'all.

It's a cactus, y'all. (For the record, I LOVE saying y'all. I just might become one of those annoying people that was born and raised in the Northwest, but still says y'all all the time.)

Thems critters out there in the wild. Careful, now.

HA! I'm one of those annoying ppl... but, in my defense, I spent all my adult life in the South. 15 years. So, I consider myself a SOuthern Girl :)
We're following you now. Come back and check us out!
