sweet summer day

You know how every once in awhile you're given one of those really special days? The kind that are filled with fun moments that you know you'll be thinking about as you fall asleep that night? We had one of those today. It was filled with picnics, playgrounds, warm grass, soft sand, salt water, freeze tag and cotton candy ice cream. It was one of those rare days with no schedules, no lack of conversation and definitely plenty of sunshine. If my photo had been a little better, you'd be able to tell our friend Brian is holding a little crab. He was king of the sea life today...finding all kinds of wonderful little creatures.

These poor jellyfish were everywhere, drying out in the sun. But hey! Photo op, right Henry?

Grace found the teeniest tiny snail I'd ever seen.

Havalah found a rock that she said was perfect for a "fine lady". Here she is demonstrating that...just for you.

What a day! Thanks, guys.

I love those kinds of days. I've never had cotton candy ice cream before. That sounds yummy!
