On Sunday I, and 3500 other people, walked or ran in the Swedish SummeRun, which raises money to find a cure for Ovarian cancer. Our family does this every July, in fact this was our 16th year! I was solo this year, with my sweets hanging out at the mid point to say hey. But no worries, they'll be back with me next year.
So instead of chatting it up with J, H & H I spent the walk praying for all those families that are affected by this horrible and fast moving cancer. It always makes me cry to see those women who are there participating who are currently battling Ovarian cancer, with their sweet little heads, sans hair. It makes me miss my sweet Mom who was taken from me far too soon.

The race was over by 9:30 in the morning, so we headed to the Seattle waterfront, which, because it was so early, was practically deserted.
Look! No tourists!
Bella and I hung out for a bit enjoying the view...
...while Jon and the kids shopped around Ye Old Curiosity Shop. Henry's still talking about the famous Mummies.
After that, we walked up to Pike Place Market to buy some fish from the famous fish throwers. See our dinner flying through the air?
Impromptu family photo. The kids had absolutely no idea what I was doing when I snapped this. See what this whole blogging thing has done to me? I'm taking our picture in the reflection of a building for crying out loud.

OH friend! I would have done this with you. I hate cancer!!! My family has so dramatically been affected by this awful disease. I'm so thankful that my mom's ovarian cancer was caught early. Next year, I'm with you!!
I want to join you too!! Please let me know about all the details for next year! I am so proud of you for doing this!
I would have loved to have joined you to! Maybe next year, you can get a big team to walk with you. ;)
I laughed about the family picture comment. Blogging does funny things to us. Cool picture though!
thank you so much for doing this. What fantastic generosity. My mom has cancer and in a way she is fading away. It breaks my heart. I really should look for something local and take part like you have done.
