The previous owners of our home were, according to our neighbors, quite the gardeners. To be quite honest, the task of maintaining all the shrubs and bushes and everything else that was perfectly trimmed when we moved in, completely frightens me. As in, it's probably not gonna happen. Fortunately, this week all the lovely perennials have burst into bloom. How fun to see what we have in our new yard!
Raspberries! Yay!
Forget Me Nots. Are these only a Pacific Northwest flower? Probably not. However, tried as I may I couldn't get them to bloom when we lived in a warmer part of the state, but in Seattle, they are everywhere. My favorite.
I have no idea what these are, but I love the pale green color.
Violets? Not sure. But these are in little clumps everywhere too.
Does anyone know what these are? So delicate.
I'm pretty sure I squealed when I saw this flower. I only know them as a purple Bleeding Heart, but maybe someone can correct me on that. I planted one of these bushes right after Havalah was born, but sweet old Decatur, may he rest in peace, promptly dug them up. Such a good old dog. Ahem. Of course, that's not what I said at the time.
On another note, we started some seeds in our kitchen window sill today. Watermelons! Should be interesting...

How fun! Can't wait to hear how the watermelons turn out!
Lucky you....raspberries! I'm not kidding, every time I plant raspberries, I end up moving. ;) Your garden looks so pretty.
mmm . . . raspberries are my favorite food! your new garden looks amazing! I think the pale green one looks like a hellebore? And the delicate white a trillium? Whatever they are - enjoy!
Your BEAUTIFUL pictures from your garden have totally blessed my day!! I think flowers have to be one of God's most majestic creations of all!! :)
I am really excited to see what comes up this summer in your yard -- can you please take pics and post them too?
You are a precious friend and I am SO thankful for you. May you feel God's radiance shining all around you today, sweet friend.
I love those flowers. The "other side" grows such beatuful flowers. Bleeding hearts are one of my faves, too.
I agree with Kelly's comment~ I fairly certain the flower you asked about is a trillium, one of my mom's favorites. Wish I could spend an hour in your yard with you!
That is my dream yard!! (without the maintenance though) The first "unknown" flower looks like a Heloboris (sp?) and the last looks like Trillium to me. Just my 2-cents worth :) Sounds like you are doing well!
