Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere

Once I finally got over the fact that summer is officially over, we put on our nicest clothes (!) and headed out to the Farm. Last year we grew Cinderella pumpkins, which is what you see in the next few pictures. I'm not sure why I love this variety of pumpkin so much. I suppose it's because it has such a lovely reddish orange color. As a side note, if you ever want to grow this type of pumpkin, it is the easiest one, in my opinion, to grow and you'll have more than you could ever want...believe me : ) So like I said, we put on our best clothes and headed out to pose with some pumpkins. So cute.

I was sure that we had brought Henry with us, but I didn't see much of him while we were there.

Maybe it was because I needed to get my lens OFF the pumpkins.

Lest you don't enjoy the process of walking through an actual "patch" to pick your carving pumpkin, look no further. At this farm they just line them up in neat little rows. Kinda neat, I guess, but it also left me wondering if they have too much time on their hands. I'm just saying.

We wandered into their cute little store and listened to the talking scarecrow. "He" was telling Aesop's Fable about the mice and the cat, which we had just read, so that was fun. Plus we bought some Kettle Corn and candy, so that was fun too.

She did all the heavy lifting for me this year.

We finally made it out to the petting farm, where the kids ran around and fed the animals two large bags of corn feed. I love watching kids feed farm animals. It's such a simple pleasure, somehow. All the way home I heard all the reasons why we really need to have our own petting farm.

Have you ever met Cherry Sue? She's so cute, and totally made me want a Llama.

Oh there's Henry!

Goodness... we'd better get out to the pumpkin patch this weekend before Halloween is upon us. Somehow I missed September slipping by. The lined up pumpkins are hilarious!

What an amazing pumpkin farm!!!! We grew pumpkins this year but were disappointed in the turn out. Maybe next year we'll try cinderella. Can you bake with them?

K-I have no idea. I've never been more ambitious than to roast the seeds of the carving pumpkins. I just like 'em cause they're pretty. :)
