We have been so blessed, these last two weeks, to have the privilege to spend some quality time with some of our extended family. Two weeks ago we got to hang out with my sister, Mary Beth, and her family for a whole week, and I took exactly one photo. Disgusting. Last week we traveled to Chicago for Jon's cousin's wedding. It was truly a joy to spend time with some of our family from the midwest. I loved every single minute. Every time we are all together I wish we could live closer to each other. Anyway, again, I didn't take enough photos. Too busy gabbing away, I'm sure. So, here's a few pictures I did manage to take:
Jon and I have been to Chicago several times - but this time we actually got to stay in the heart of downtown and explore a bit more.
Henry's request was to hit the big Lego store. He was literally sprinting to the entrance as soon as it came into view. Thanks Grandpa and Havalah for hanging out for over an hour while Henry and Jon shopped. ;)
This spider was huge!
Henry really enjoyed buiding his own "lego guys". Important work for a 4 year old kid.

Passing the time - see Henry hard at work in the background?
We got to eat our favorite Chicago pizza. The crust is actually just like pie dough. Amazing.
We may have eaten a little too much wonderful food last week.
Havah's request was to go here. This store was so neat. It's actually set up a bit like a museum - with dioramas of each American Girl and her period in history. Not to mention doll hospital, hair salon, doll craft center, sweet shop, and restaurant, to name a few things.
She picked out a little snack set for Bitty.
Really the most wonderful part and the reason we were there was for Cameron and Tannaz's beautiful wedding. So Lovely.
Jon's cousin, Sarah and her husband, Matt. We loved hanging out and sightseeing with you two and your beautiful children!
The bride and groom with the groom's parents - Jon's aunt Martha and Uncle Dick.
some pictures from the wedding...

The cousins
Congratulating the Bride and Groom. Henry had to show off his brand new prized Hershey's Chocolate and Reese's Peanut Butter lip balms, which he lost 5 minutes later in the taxi.

Looks like you had an amazing time. We love Chicago too!
Your trip to Chicago sounds like so much fun. I understand how hard it is to say goodbye to family after having such a great time together. I've been getting to see a lot of seldom;y seen family members lately and it's been wonderful. It seems like your kids picked the exact two places mine would have picked to go to if in Chicago. ;)
How fun! I've always wanted to go to Chicago.
Aren't you quick to get these pics up! I'm hoping to blog today. I have no pictures from Chicago. Too busy trying to keep Hazel happy at that point, I guess. We're enjoying having Hilary here (and Milton soon). See you tomorrow!
Love the pictures of Chicago!
The American Doll store is just a block up from Mary and Justin's. You are brave to have gone. I did not want to buy 3 dolls.....:)
Cameron and Tannaz's wedding looked beautiful! Glad you had a wonderful time! We love Chicago!
