21st century mosaic

As part of our world history curriculum we've been learning about ancient Rome and just a bit about their beautiful mosaics. Havah was immediately drawn to the color and detail of these. When we sat down to make one out of paper, I was surprised when she said she wanted to create a hula dancer. Not exactly ancient art - but pretty adorable none the less!

On another note, we finished with our Homeschooling Co-op this week. We've had a great year, but I'm so glad to have this extra day each week to focus on the remainder of our school work here at home. Havah did her very first book report today and I was so proud of the detail she put into both the report and the illustrations. It's wonderful to look back at our year and realize how much she has learned and grown. Priceless.

I love the end of the school year. And this year I'm actually feeling really good about where we will leave off. (That's a first) Looking forward to some sunny summer weather. Adorable art, by the way.
