We finally finished our spring trees! The children painted these using the same technique that we used for our trees in the fall. What is already an enjoyable project is made even more fun because you get to use a straw to blow the paint around. :) Find the complete directions at That Artist Woman. Happy Spring everyone!

Havalah's treeOur poetry study for this week:
Spring
by Celia Thaxter
The Alder by the River
Shakes out her powdery curls;
The willow buds in silver
For little boys and girls.
The little birds that fly over
And oh, how sweet they sing!
To tell the happy children
That once again 'tis spring.
The gay green grass comes creeping
So soft beneath their feet;
The frogs begin to ripple
A music clear and sweet.
And buttercups are coming,
And scarlet columbine,
And in the sunny meadows
The dandelions shine.
And just as many daisies
As their soft hands can hold
The little ones may gather,
All fair in white and gold.
Here blows the warm red clover,
There peeps the violet blue;
Oh happy little children!
God made them all for you!

Wow, those turned out so great! We haven't had a lot of luck with straw painting....maybe we'll have to try again.
Just what I needed today for Spring tonic
