local artist

I recently commissioned a local artist to do some artwork for us. I've always really liked abstract art and I LOVE the way it turned out! Maybe you know the artist...

Ever heard of him? He's known for his work using crayons, watercolors and moon sand.

plus, I only had to pay him in candy :)

Wow! You got a steal of a deal on that incredible piece of art. ;) Have I told you before that I think Henry is adorable?

Love the print. I keep thinking of having my kids do something of the sort. Is that watercolor on a piece of canvas?

Delena,

It is watercolor on canvas. I try to buy them used at thrift stores, then paint over them with a neutral color. One time when I was standing in line with a bunch of canvases the woman behind me said: "how wonderful that you found some lovely original art!" Well, the art was actually quite hideous. :) I made the mistake of telling her that it was for my kids to paint on and she looked horrified! Guess I won't mention that again!

Hi Kristen,
What a cute idea! What kind of paint do you use to paint over the "original art'?

hi Jamie! I just use a regular wall paint in a hue that matches my house! :) I'm sure there is correct type to use, but this seems to work out just great!
