ornament exchange and other things

I've been meaning to get some photos up on the blog of our weekend with Grandpa and Grandma and Havalah's performance in the Nutcracker. I need to get some photos off of our other camera, and will do that soon.

On another note...we joined the Crafty Crow in their 1st annual ornament exchange this year. We made 7 ornaments and sent them off to other kids all over the country. So fun! Here's what the kids made:

And here are a few of the ones that have been coming in the mail. They are beautiful.

While I was at the Christmas tree snapping photos I thought I'd take a few pictures of some of our favorite ornaments. The snowman (above) will always hold a special place in my heart. For two years, during Christmas, when Havah was 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 she'd always include this little wooden snowman in the Nativity scene. She would always say that he wanted to see baby Jesus too. Love that.

Cute little Henry was still a new little guy at Christmas 2004. This was his first ornament.

Jon and I had a Christmas wedding and so many people gave us lovely ornaments. This is one of our favorites.

Every year the kids get to pick a new ornament for the tree. I label the back with their names and the year. Havah picked this whimsical cutie when she was only a year old.

I've been collecting vintage Santas for many years. And this one is from my childhood. When I was little I was just sure that he was filled with chocolate. :)

I loved seeing your ornaments and reading about them. The ornament exchange sounds like so much fun...I hope they do it again next year.

I love the stories behind your ornaments. Its always fun to see what means what to whom. And I love the ornaments you got in the mail, as well as the ones you sent.

The story about the snowman and the nativity is very cute. Hazel takes Noah's animals to see Jesus, and her little bendy Santa likes to ride the wisemen's camel.
