I was recently asked to gather some Christmas craft ideas and supplies for a local MOPS group. I haven't been to MOPS since before Henry was born, and it was a blessing for me to put these ideas together and share them with a bunch of other moms. In case anyone needs a few more ideas for Christmas crafts here they are!
stained glass Christmas tree
1) cut out a tree shape
2) punch holes - my kids loved this part!
3) glue tissue paper on the back. It's fun to layer the paper for "new" colors. (Havah is taking an art class and has been learning about the color wheel, so this was especially fun for her)
1) gather up your jam jars or votive holders
2) glue tissue paper on the outside of the jar - again overlapping colors
3) smooth down all the corners with white glue or Mod Podge
1) cut yarn into 15 inch lengths
2) soak the yarn in white glue
3) turn a bowl upside down and cover it with saran wrap
4) drape the yarn every which way over the bowl - wipe any drips
5) let dry overnight
Happy creating!

very cute! I think we might try the christmas tree. the other projects might be too hard this year for eli, but maybe next year.
All these ideas look like so much fun. Thanks for sharing them here. I love the new photo in your header.
I'm excited...I bought tissue paper today and we are going to make the trees tonight. Eli and I read The Legend of the Christmas Tree today and I'm going to tie the two together.
I just found your blog through Dawns. I love it. I also liek vthis craft.
Your little girl is just gorgeous. But there now, Im sure people tell you that all the time. :)
Kristen,
These crafts are so fun. We have made the tissue paper votive holders before. What a great reminder and a couple of years ago Meredyth and I made something similar to the Chritmas trees but with construction paper and star punch outs but we lost that hole puncher. Are your Christmas trees cut out from felt? They kind of look like it.
Will you come to my MOPS group and give a craft lecture?? :)
It is so fun to read your blog and H&H are so sweet. Thanks for the ideas! Can you come over for tea and a walk today??????
Love, Jenna
Such happy things to meet when walking into a room! ~N
We loved the tree craft. We haven't gotten to the rest, but the tree was such fun. They keep asking "what are we gonna do with all that yarn."
