ballet girl

I have to take a moment and blog about our little ballerina. Havalah first started taking ballet from a ballet studio in Edmonds when she was three years old. She loved the Ballet Academy and we were sad to leave it behind when we moved to Wenatchee. We enrolled her in ballet over here almost immediately. Obviously, there aren't as many choices in Wenatchee and the one we chose was a different sort of school, led by a British woman who focused on dancers who possibly wanted to become a professional ballet dancer someday. After a year with her we *determined* that this school just wasn't quite the right fit for us (I'm going to say that as delicately as I can!). Anyway, yesterday we signed her up for ballet at a different school. As soon as we got home from registration she ran upstairs and dragged out her ballet recital tutu (that she wore when she was 4) and began to dance. And dance. And dance. After such a *different* and somewhat discouraging year at our previous school it was so refreshing for us to see her excited to be dancing again!

How beautiful she is! I wish I were there to see her dance in person.

These are such gorgeous photos of your little ballerina! I hope she really loves her new dance school this year.

It has been way too long since I looked at your blog. I have missed so much! Your pics are great. I love the ballerina ones--I too enrolled at a more professional type dance school when I was 13 (after having been in dance since I was 4) and quickly found it was not my style. What's wrong with just dancing because you love it and it's good for you? Your post about your run in Seattle was very sweet. No doubt it means so much to your mother.
