like many children our kids have this *thing* for rocks. there are piles of collected rocks pretty much all over the house and in every one of henry's pockets. In fact, we had a routine service on our washer last week and the guy pulled out a bunch of rocks that made it down into the "boot" of the washer. This of course is in addition to the ones I'm always pulling out myself. Anyway, we put some of the special ones to good use yesterday.
after cleaning the rocks we "baked" them in the oven for about 10 minutes. then the kids colored on them with crayons. this is cool because the wax melts right onto the rock. the only thing I'd do differently is to choose rocks that are white or at least light in color, it was hard to see the crayons on the dark grey or black rocks.
the oven mitts came in handy

what a fun idea!
That is a fun project to do that I kind of forgot about. I'll have to do this again with my kiddos. I love the new look of your blog!
Love the kids' stamps! It was great to go to the ball game with you, see the parade, and play at G&G's. See you next time!
