Last spring before we moved to Wenatchee we drove over for a day to make a list of the things that needed to be done before we moved in. At the top of our list was to have all the hardwoods refinished. The big dilemma was whether or not to have the hardwood people also sand and refinish the stairs. The quote they gave to us for the stairs was roughly the same price as having the floors in all the rest of the house refinished. After much discussion, we decided to let the stairs go...for now. Well, while we were on vacation, Jon's dad, who is a woodworking genius and has helped us with hundreds of house projects, spent 7 days here making the stairs beautiful. Of course, now I'm wishing that I had taken a *before* picture, but here is the *after* one. Thank you, Ken.

They are beautiful! Can Ken come to my house too?
What a father-in-law! That is such an extraordinary surprise. They look gorgeous. And looks like y'all had a lot of fun on your trip. Henry wasn't into the princess constumes?
