Y'all! Hiiiiiii! Enough is enough already. I hope to be back in this space more regularly - shooting for twice a month, but at the very least once a month (is that timeframe considered regular??) Anyway, I've been reflecting back at 2021, so thankful for our blessings, for our health, family, and even for the hard stuff. That being said, I do sorta hope that 2022 is less eventful!
A look back at the highlights of each month....
January: we got to fly to visit Grandma and Grandpa (and Aunt, Uncle, and cousins too) in Barrington, IL. And also SNOW!
In February we had our own snowy cold days as Texas literally froze for a few days. No power, no water. It was a bit of a rollercoaster. Jon kept our pipes warm and we managed to avoid any frozen pipes or flooding. It was exciting to say the least!
In March we went to Fredricksburg for spring break. It was fun to vacation right in our home state. The low this month was saying goodbye to our beloved Bella.
In April Havalah started having a lot of graduation activities and wrapped up her senior year. A low this month, that I didn't share pics of is the massive sewage incident that flooded our master bath, powder bath, homechool/guest room and guest bath. The silver lining is we were able to make some great upgrades in these rooms after everything had been ripped out.
In May Havah finished up with school, graduated, had a birthday, and Grandma and Grandpa flew in for a visit. Henry also finished up his 10th grade year, woohoo! What a month! :)
In June we helped at VBS - Henry got to help in the sound booth and Havah and I were team leaders. Havalah and I also had our colors done, which preceded a major closet clean out ;)
July brought M A R G O T , and our lives will never be the same. :)
In August Henry competed in the AAU Junior Olympics for Pickleball, my sister came to visit which always includes a trip to Waco, Havalah started college, and sadly, we very unexpectedly lost our Holly.
In September I slipped and broke my angel in two places. I was unable to drive for several weeks, but the silver lining was all the people that came to the rescue. Dinners, driving, encouraging words. What a blessing. At the end of the month we were able to tag along with Jon to the Hyatt Hill Country Resort for a long weekend. Always restful and beautiful.
October brought Henry's 17th birthday and Jon's 50th, and I might've had a birthday tucked in there too. Also, Havalah got her ears pierced!
In November we cancelled our trip to Hawaii and traveled to Disneyland and Fort Meyers, Florida. Jon and I celebrated 25 years of marriage. It was a great month. :)
December brought lots of time to rest and reflect, as well as celebrate that Margot is finally house broken lol. We traveled to Georgetown, TX for a Rubik's competition, and have gotten to enjoy some cooler, sweater weather :) But seriously, we had a lovely Christmas at home. Thankful for a beautiful year, with the people I love more than anything. :)

What a year!! So many highs and lows. I'm sorry about the loss of furry family members. I'm glad that Margot is settling into life at your house. She's darling. I love your Christmas dishes and would love to hear what you thought of Ft Meyers. You'll have to share your favorite spots. Wishing you a happy, healthy kind of quiet 2022 :)
