Keeping busy!

Just thought I'd pop in to say 'hey'.  With all that is going on in the world, I hope that you're hanging in there and finding ways to fill this (temporary) new normal.  Since we are used to being home for the bulk of the day, our lives really don't look all that different.  Our homeschool co-op has been moved online (my kids love seeing their friends on zoom), and of course all extracurricular activities have been cancelled. But on the upside Jon is working from home and we get to all be together. Another upside is all the extra time for projects that normally fall to the bottom of the list.  Cleaning out the garage, organizing drawers, cleaning and tidying bookshelves, AND time to read! What a gift this extra time has been.  However, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that sometimes the days didn't feel extra long, ha.   I miss getting out once a day, even if it's just a quick trip to Target, or a drive through McDonalds for an iced tea. But the kids have adapted surprisingly well and haven't complained about all this time at home.

Houston really shines in the spring! We've been spending lots of time on our deck, which usually includes finding some of these cuties.

Pausing to enjoy the sunset...

always lots of drawing

and painting

family bike rides

squishy Chip snuggles
school prep

Zoom is a lifesaver!

organizing Disney pins

clean shelves!

...and a ton of baking.  Like, too much baking :\ I might, at some point, need an intervention, ha.

My kids are the same way! They're enjoying being home and just today (after 19 days of being home) complained that we couldn't go somewhere and were missing school. I miss seeing friends and getting out of the house. But, like you, I'm enjoying all this extra family time. We're working on stuff at home and biking lots. Your braided bread is stunning!! It looks so pretty. I bet it was just as tasty. Keep enjoying this time together!

Hi, I saw your comment on Whitney's blog and clicked over. I thought I'd comment since we both live in the Houston area. Love your braided bread and also the little frog. Our spring weather has been wonderful, and we've been doing a lot of baking too. My kids are about the same age as yours. Nice "meeting" you!
