I am honestly not even sure where the time has gone, but six weeks ago we took a five day weekend to drive up through Oklahoma, Kansas, and finally Missouri to see the (full) solar Eclipse. My super cool husband loooooves stuff like this, and he planned the whole thing. Because so many people were making the same trip, our handy travel app, Waze, sent us largely back roads, which was AMAZING. We saw so much back country of these new-to-us states, that the drive went by in a blink. Among our stops were Frisco, TX (
Dude Perfect, y'all), Osage County Oklahoma, Coffeyville, Kansas, Branson, Columbia and Springfield Missouri. I'm happy to say that we've now tasted ice cream at
Braum's, wolfed down
Ree's pecan pie and sticky buns and happily finished off the bbq pork, brisket, beans
and wasabi slaw baked potato from
Buckingham's BBQ. Oh yeah, and the eclipse was pretty good too.
So good!
I hope to be back soon with some more updates, including Hurricane Harvey, a six week overdue back to school post, and my almost birthday boy!
Have a great week!

Oh, wonderful SHARE!! Thanks so much!
It looks like such an adventure. I always wonder what you are all doing and this report just quieted my heart. I know you are all out there! And Waze is GREAT - thanks for showing it to us!

Sounds like you. Always focusing on the positive! !
Love the pics! So fun that you went to the Pioneer Woman store! I'm jealous! :)
What a fun trip! I've never heard of that travel app so I'll have to look into it. Your food looked amazing - that pecan pie and that bbq potato - made my mouth water!! Your family is so good at making fun memories together. I would LOVE to visit the Mercantile someday. Those ruffled cake plates are so pretty. I'd love to try the food and shop the store. So glad you got to see it with your own eyes.
