Texcellent

Sunday after church we decided to head out for some local sightseeing. We've been in the hunt for the best biscuits and gravy in Houston for awhile now. We may have found our new top contender at the Dot Coffee Shop.

Carb up y'all  :D

Next we hopped aboard the Galveston ferry, which took us across the bay.  There we visited Fort Travis before looking for a beach where we could stop and play for awhile.

The sand was full of pretty shells! I even found some beach glass which hasn't happened since we moved to Texas.  There were flocks of Pelicans overhead, and little fish jumping out of the waves.

So nice to find a respite from the heat.

I've come to discover an overwhelming pride for this great state.  I'm so glad we dared to dream big and move deep in the heart of Texas.

Beautiful Texas pictures! So happy that you are happy! Are those hush puppies with your biscuits? Oh my word, one of my favorite parts of the south was eating hush puppies.
