I don't often think of myself as a person who *needs* vacation. I'm pretty relaxed and generally not too stressed. But after losing my Dad, working around the clock on school and house projects, I (actually, we) needed this mental break in a bad way. Promising ourselves that we wouldn't be those parents that have their faces glued to their iPhones while they walked around Disney World, we decided to unplug. For nearly two weeks we were BLISSFULLY detached from the world. So much so that we didn't realize that Houston was in dire straits with all the flooding until we started hearing from people wondering if we were okay. How nice it was to turn off the outside world and focus on our little family. So good. It felt like a reset.
I'll be back with more photos (ahem, I took over 1,000), but until then there are a few favorites.

Glad you are home safely and had a great time. The backyard is still a great educational tool for the kids school. Go fusing for dinner. Watch out for alligators!ππ ππ‘π¬π³ππΈπ’
These pictures make me smile!! Looks like you had a wonderful time and I can't wait to hear more about your trip. That mama ring is such a treasure!! Glad to hear you're safe and sound with all the crazy weather in Texas lately.
What ride is the last picture? And I'm sure you already know how much I LOVE this post. Please post more.....I'm a happiest place on earth addict. :)
