Life lately, according to my iPhone

Life lately has been speeding by!  Fortunately, I have a faithful friend who keeps (lovingly) reminding me I need to blog again!  Thanks, C!

So, although I have a lot of back blogging to do - which I will, here's what we've been up to lately!

On our way to the store the other day, we spotted a venue of vultures.  We must still be newbies to this part of the country because we stopped and watched them for quite a while.
These two found out we are headed to Disney World!  We are BEYOND excited!!!  God totally worked this out for us.  We wanted to surprise the kids and be there for Havah's birthday, but Jon had a trial scheduled.  He found out a few weeks ago that it was rescheduled for the fall.  Yes!
While at the zoo last week we stopped and watched the pelican feeding.  I feel like I'm looking at dinosaurs when I look at them.  They are the coolest.

The kids had their end of year field day this week.  I'm STILL trying to get the smell of shaving cream out of their clothes.
The house progress continues!  For a part of Havah's birthday present we are redoing her bedroom.  This week we'll finish up the wall color.  Have you ever added sparkle to paint?  It's cool.
Again with the Texas wildlife.  {{Sigh}} It is baby turtle season and they are adorable.  Our neighbors keep finding them in their pool and continue to bring them over.  I mean...look at that face.
Look!  I got a real smile from Henry!  And he's not even making a silly face!

These two.  :)
One of the cool things about living in a new house is seeing what pops up from the garden.  I was thrilled to see these gorgeous amaryllis.

H and H participated in Bible Drill for the first time.  It included memorizing the books of the Bible, the location of 10 key passages, 25 verses, and being able to find them in the Bible in under 10 seconds.  The kids were a little hesitant at first because our homeschooling curriculum already does a ton of memorization, so it all just felt like too much.  But they powered through and did a fantastic job.  They both qualified to compete at the state level where Havah got a perfect score and Henry only missed two.   Psalm 119:11 "Your word I have hid in my heart, that I might not sin against you."

We were so happy to finish our first year with Classical Conversations.  If you may recall, when joined this homeschooling co-op/community last fall we didn't know a single person. We feel blessed to have gotten to know many wonderful people who have become our friends.  Although I won't be tutoring again next year (it pulled me in too many directions) we will look forward to returning in a few months time.
Jon is currently reading aloud Lord of the Rings, and Henry loves to claim this spot.  I don't think Jon minds too much.  ;)
We made Boba!  One of our favorite treats are Japanese milk teas.  But at around $4 a pop it's a little expensive.  We picked up the tapioca pearls at Ranch 99 and made our own.

This sweet little Mourning Dove has been sitting on her nest in our driveway for over a month.  I feel like she is apart of our family.  We are excited to see her babies - hopefully, soon!

On our walk the other night the kids brought a ball and used the golf course as their very own play field.  It was one of those sweet moments that I want to remember.  :)

Be back soon!
