Last Sunday at church the 2nd graders were presented with their Bibles. As you can imagine, this is quite a big deal for all the kids.
We were sitting all the way up in the balcony, with the telephoto lens, snapping away. Henry spotted us almost immediately and proceeded to smile and wave, when he wasn't whispering with the guy next to him, who had apparently taken his pencil right beforehand.
Since this day, he's asked me continuously for verses that he can look up. Loving that!
"I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:11

That's sweet. Hazel was thrilled to get her first bible and is always excited to find something familiar to her in it - that confirmation that the verses are actually in the Bible and not just in her Awana book.
