Goodness! I know that Halloween has come and gone with nary a peep from me about this exciting October week. But I know that there is a grandparent or two who might like to see some photos!
We got home from vacation just days before Halloween which left a whole lotta October festivities to cram in all at once. I had chosen to ignore the fact that we hadn't made costumes or picked pumpkins before we left for vacation, so all that had to be done quickly.
Here goes!
I told the kids that the costumes were going to be homemade this year. First up, Ninja Henry. He went from this:
He was happy to hear lots of other little boys say: "oh look at that Ninja! I wanna be a Ninja next year!" Whew. Success.
Next up was the evil Queen from Snow White. Havalah played this perfectly. Fortunately for me, Grandma had just pulled out her costume bag and had the dress and cape for us to use. The rest of the costume we pulled together minutes before trick or treating.

"Care for an apple??"
Jon and I were shaking with laughter most of the night because my quick attempt at hemming Havah's dress had come undone and it ended up being too long for her. She ended up stepping on it continuously which caused her to whip about, with her cape billowing out behind, and an annoyed expression on her face exactly like the Queen herself. We cheered her up by telling her she was playing the character quite well. ;)
Boo!
I mean Happy Thanksgiving!
