birthday parties

Every year after the kids' birthday parties I'm so filled with gratitude. Thankful that it all went well. Thankful that our children feel so loved by our family and friends. For some reason I always find it hard to blog about all of it. What to say? Well, it was great. It was wonderful, really. So, with a few thoughts thrown in, I think I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

Party number 1. "Friend party". This year's theme was rainbows. Rainbow ponies, rainbow decorations, and, of course, rainbow cake and candy.
{pssst...it has taken me 9 years to realize that, I really, really like making cakes.}

{we had a gorgeous day! Gah! Thank you, Seattle!}

Party number 2. "Family". The rainbows continue....

{party decor - pony style}
{coloring, and designing tails for...}
{pin the tale on the pony}

{whenever cousin Hazel, and (almost cousin) Grace comes over, Havalah loves to read aloud to them while they play. A most endearing trait, I think}
{at play}

{these 5 kids love each other - and I'm so thankful for them}
Happy Birthday, Havalah! You are a rainbow to me every day!

Wow, that cake looks amazing! How in the world did you do that? Can you make Eli's bomb cake? Just kidding!

Thanks for including my boys in the fun. We had a very special day with you!
