Our family has been dragging around here all this week. Yucky colds, sore throats, no energy, midnight calls through the darkness to the tune of...."Mooooommmmyyyy". Last night, Jon heard the call and went to deliver Tylenol to the boy with a fever...which was like giving me a gift. ♥
Anyway, this morning seemed to call for something special. A few days ago, via a few blogs, I found this recipe for Vanilla Sugar Cookies. The great thing about these sugar cookies is they don't require a quick trip to the store for ingredients, and they are so good. I didn't know I liked vanilla this much.
Getting ready to go in the oven.
And a pot of tea. Always a pot of tea around here. Havalah and I drink at least 2-3 pots of this tea during the day. Seventeen years ago, someone gave my Mom a box of this Twig tea, while she was undergoing chemo, hoping it would help calm her stomach. She and I both loved it, and I've been drinking it ever since. To help expand my tea horizons, Jon and the kids gave me a membership to Teavana for Christmas, for a tea of the month club. Their tea is so wonderful and pure and I'm trying new teas that I never knew existed. Like Apple Lemon Pomegranate!
And here is my little counter sitter. Every chance he gets. I've decided to go with it...you're only little once. : )
Have a great weekend!

So sorry to hear about being sick. We've been ill off and on since the 1st of Jan. Can fully relate. Your tea club sounds delicious. I too have been into tea lately and am always looking for more flavors to try.
Those cookies sound delicious. Love your picture of the tea...I so wish I liked it!
Reading your blogs are like sitting in your warm cozy kitchen being part of your family. Sorry you are sick friend, but wishing I had a cup of your tea and a cookie to enjoy with you!
I can totally picture the sweetness you are giving your kids today! I love tea, I'm going to have to check out that site! And....the cookies of course!

OOOHHH!!! The vanilla cookies look and sound SO tasty! :)
We really enjoy tea, I am always excited to hear about new ones! My favorite is Lavender Earl Gray.
I think I will have to get back into tea. I used to enjoy tea everyday after school with my Mom. Thanks for the reminders :)
Won't take you up on the tea, but I love that Havalah loves it with you. I will print out that cookie recipe though. We've pretty much emptied our Tylenol, Benedryl and Robutussin bottles. Why are they all cherry flavored, pink and sticky? Surely there must be another way...
