say what?


Tonight at dinner the 4 of us were talking about how many people could fit around our new dining room table. The kids concluded that it could fit two on each side, and then one on each end. Henry announced quietly that 4 + 2 = 6.
Easy enough.
Then, under his breath he said "the reason 4 + 2 = 6 is because if you take 1 away from the 4, and give it back to the 2, then it becomes 3 + 3, which also equals 6. That's why."
Jon and I looked at each other incredulously. Very good, Henry, have you considered a career in engineering?
