summer picnic

A few days ago we planned to meet Jon's parents at a park in the little town of Cle Elum. It was such a fun, old fashioned park, with all the play equipment that no parks have anymore. Swings that are big enough for grown ups, really, really tall slides and an old Merry-go-Round that spins just a little too fast. Our kids had never seen such a park and were in playground heaven. OK, so, we all were. :)Havah was so excited to get out her cookbook, flip through and pick out what we should make. She planned the menu, wrote the shopping list and did all the shopping, after her chauffeur mommy took her to the store. Then she made the lunch. We all supported her by eating every crumb.
Egg salad "boatwiches"

Raspberry jam tartlets

Have you ever tried to catch Cheerios in your mouth while flying around on a Merry Go Round? Not easy.

It was time to go just as the big raindrops started to fall!

It looks like a lovely time! We were just in Cle Elum a a few weeks ago camping. It's actually a cute little town, isn't it?

Those old fashioned playgrounds are the best. And how lucky your family is, to have such a great little cook to prepare a picnic lunch!
