birthday boy

In lieu of a "friends" party over here in Wenatchee, we decided to go to Seattle for some birthday museum fun. Our first stop was to the Museum of Flight. Jon & I had been there for an event long ago but it was our first time there as a family. There is one word that best describes it: AWESOME. If you live in the Seattle area and haven't been there, GO!

For those of you with toddlers, there is a little playground area with activities intended for younger kids
the infamous Concorde - which acutally felt quite small inside.
I'm not sure that Jon could even stand up straight.

Air Force One
The Blackbird - flies at Mach 3!!! Wow. Try explaining that to your 6 year old.
pretty much for highlight for Henry
who knew she had such good disco moves?
flying the shuttle, trying to get close enough to the Hubble telescope to change it's position
Inside Air Force One
Henry is apparently on some kind of a sugar low :)

The next day we went to the Science Center, where we blew giant bubbles,
impressed new friends,
held blue hermit crabs,
played tic tac toe against a very slow robot,
and made some cool music.

Back to Grandpa & Grandma's house for a little party.
licking the frosting off like crazy
cute little Hazel came for the party!
cool tool set from Aunt Hilary and Uncle Milton
My baby is four!

My husband's been trying to convince me to go to the Museum of Flight and I didn't really see the appeal...but from the pictures, it really does look like fun. It sounded like a great way to celebrate Henry's birthday.

I can't wait to go the flight museum now. Henry was so cute in the Blue Angel plane and manuevering the space shuttle. And it's always fun to see Hazel on your blog!
